Masam project removes 241.000 mines, unexploded ordnance in Yemen

Masam”: 4,184 “Houthi” mines were removed in a week – Pledge Times

 The Saudi Project (MASAM) said on Monday it has removed 241.048 mines and unexploded ordnance from 22.518.643 square meters of Yemeni land since June 2018.

Project's managing director Ousama Algosaibi said the project removed 159.573 unexploded ordnance, 71.744 anti-tank mines, 3.713 anti-personnel mines and 6.018 explosive devices.

The project was founded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in 2018 to clear mines and remnants of war in Yemen.

Many civilians, including children and women, have been killed and maimed in mine explosions, the government says.
