Local sources told the Yemeni Media Center the resistance fighters in Ibb have mobilized early Sunday to break into Al-Hamza military camp after a series of Saudi-led airstrikes on the camp. The sources said over 12 airstrikes hit the camp on Saturday and early Sunday, a thing which has emboldened the resistance fighters in Ibb to gather and prepare to storm the Houthi-controlled Al-Hamza military camp.
This military camp belongs to the now-dissolved Republican Guard, an elite force which was under the command of former president Ali Saleh's son, Ahmed. According to the sources, the Saudi-led Arab coalition warplanes parachuted weapons and ammunitions for the resistance fighters in Al-Awd area of Ibb. On Saturday, the resistance fighters in Al-Hazm district of Ibb declared Al-Hazm as liberated from the Houthis.
